Frank/Myrrh Blend
Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), Cedarwood (Cedrus deodara), Frankincense (Boswelia frereana), Frankincense (Boswelia carterii), Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana), Cistus (Cistus ladaniferus), Arborvitae (Thuja plicata), Vanilla planifolia plant

Arborvitae, or Western Red Cedar, is distilled from the sawdust that is 'waste' from the lumber industry, not leaves, and thus does not have the troublesome alpha-thujone. Instead, it is high in Methyl thujate, which has no known contraindications, and is the only oil in the world with this component. It has an amazing aroma.

Application Suggestions (See Essential Oil Usage for more information and a Dilution Chart.)
Topical: Dilute with a carrier oilunscented lotion or unscented cream and apply on area of concern or as desired. Consider using a roll-on applicator for ease of application of prediluted oil.

Since FrankMyrrh does not have a limiting dilution parameter, we suggest that adults follow the General Guidelines found on the Dilution Chart, which is:
2-3% for daily application
Up to 25% for short-term use

Children: For infants and children, please follow the Dilution Chart on the Babies and Children page.

HEO previously offered Frank/Myrrh as custom spray (per customer's request). The dilution ratio was 13.3% with Sweet Almond oil. For daily use, we suggest 3% dilution or less.

SPRAY: Frank/Myrrh blend makes a wonderful spray. To make a spray, simply decide on the appropriate dilution ratio, add the number of drops to the spray bottle, and then fill with the carrier oil of your choice. For example, for 3% FrankMyrrh in a 1oz bottle, put 30 drops FrankMyrrh blend in the bottle then fill with carrier oil. Used as a moisturizing body spray, spray into palm and apply as desired. (Will spray as a stream rather than a mist due to the consistency of the carrier oil)

Inhalation: Diffuse or use a personal Nasal Inhaler. Since the oils in this blend are resinous, if you diffuse it, they may thicken and clog the atomizer. Generally, we avoid diffusing resinous oils, but if you choose to diffuse this blend, consider adding a thin oil such as Lemon to the blend to help avoid diffusing problems.

1. I finally have my Rosacea under control and wanted something soothing for my face. I actually purchased the FrankMyrrh Spray (13% dilution with Sweet Almond oil) for a friend. and on a whim I decided to get one for me to try. I LOVE it. I have been using it twice a day on my face/neck, and I must say the results are amazing. My skin is smooth and blemish free!! - Penny

2. I have had terrible skin for a couple of years and have tried several HEO remedies but none really helped. I have hormone issues as well. Recently I purchased the Simply Lotion and used it faithfully. It helped, but not a lot. Then I added FrankMyrrh Spray (13% dilution with Sweet Almond oil) to it and continued to use it twice a day. My skin is great now. Nice and smooth and feels almost silky. I still have breakouts, but that is related to my diet and hormone issues. - Stacy

3. I love this spray (13% dilution with Sweet Almond oil), it has been the most helpful in keeping my Rosacea from flaring up. - Penny

4. My mother prefers to mix Neuro-Function in a dropper bottle. She feels it's easier to use to massage the oils on her feet. She alternates applying Neuro-Function in the morning and FrankMyrrh at night.  The oils are helping her with her neuropathy. Thank you! - Jane
Safety
Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Tisserand/Young notes that Myrrh is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation, although Myrrh is not on the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy list to avoid (2014). "May be fetotoxic due to b-elemene and furanodiene content." Tisserand/Young page, 357.

Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil.” We are not aware of a case where essential oil in the eyes caused permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your health care provider.
