Application Suggestions (See Essential Oil Usage for more information and a Dilution Chart.)
Topical: Dilute with a carrier oil, unscented lotion or unscented cream and apply on area of concern or as desired. Consider using a roll-on applicator for ease of application of prediluted oil. Due to the skin irritation risk of Cinnamon Bark and Oregano, the suggested dilution is 3 drops of Absolve with 1oz. carrier (0.35%).

Children: Suitable topically for children if diluted at 0.35% (3 drops Absolve to 1oz carrier) due to Cinnamon Bark and Oregano (potential skin irritants). Not orally for children under 6. Low risk mucus membrane irritation when diffused. See Safety information below for more information. Consider Immune Support as a suitable alternative.

Inhalation: Diffuse or use a personal Nasal Inhaler

Internal: Absolve is suitable for internal use within safe parameters if such use is deemed appropriate. Due to the potential skin irritating properties in Absolve, Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt feels the preferred mode of use is internally, ideally taken by capsule diluted in a suitable carrier oil. The daily oral limit of Absolve is 30 drops due to Cinnamon Bark.

We feel that internal use is rarely *needed* and should only be used with respect for how concentrated the oils are. HEO does not advocate internal use of essential oils without appropriate knowledge and understanding of how to administer, for what purpose, how much, which essential oils, safety concerns and so on. In our experience, essential oils are generally more effective used topically with proper dilution or inhaled. Kurt Schnaubelt Ph.D. notes that "French aromatherapy literature contains many references to using oils orally." He goes on to note that "generally 1 drop is always enough when ingesting essential oils." A potential toxicity hazard could occur when untrained people use essential oils orally and ingest too much. Keep in mind that while medical doctors or health care practitioners may prescribe essential oils for internal use, they are trained and experienced in the safe application of essential oils. It is not a matter of using "French" or "British" methods, it's a matter of experience and appropriate application.
Medication/Health Issue? Caution Orally: Diabetes and Anticoagulant medication, drugs metabolized by CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP3A4 (if unsure, ask your pharmacist), Bleeding disorders, severe Hepatic or Renal Impairment, Hypertensive or Diabetic Retinopathy, Thrombocytopenia (decreased platelet count), Vasculitis, Major Surgery and Childbirth (one week before and after).

1. We had a wild, flu-like infection in this area for the last 3 months, and all my folks needed your Absolve. It was the best one for that sickness:) - Cinda (Health Care Practitioner)

2. I was on vacation and had the feeling like I was fighting a UTI. I usually wait as long as I can and do what I can to heal it, but I had that feeling like I might need to see the doc for an antibiotic when I got home. I pushed water, cut out sugar, applied Absolve mixed with coconut oil over my kidneys and bladder and took a capsule with 3 drops of the Absolve for two days. The infection left and I feel back to normal! To God from whose creation the oils are made and for Hopewell Essential Oils who makes the Absolve blend, I say THANK YOU!! - Margaret

3. I have loved using Absolve for both myself and my son, who has asthma. I feel that the oils interact differently from person to person. As I understand the benefits of both Plague Defense and Warrior, Absolve has been one of my favorites instead of those. For some reason it gives us a boost that we need to fight whatever is ailing us. It has been working wonders on my son's cough that is triggered by seasonal allergies and the common cold. - Amber

4. Recurring sore throat that comes on suddenly accompanied with extreme exhaustion with tender, swollen lymph nodes in the neck that leaves you with no energy and an overall awful feeling are definitely symptoms that you are struggling with something. Lymph massage is very helpful. Massage the oils on arms and legs toward the heart, stroking 10 times each, and keep moving rather than lying around (even though you feel ill). You can do the massage every two hours. For the best results, ask someone to do this for you. Increase water intake and eat some raw greens to get the detox moving. Absolve has been helpful for some. You would apply it to the upper back right below the neck in an area about a large as a grapefruit. The entire lymph system runs through this area, so it will be picked up and circulated throughout the body to assist with healing. Also, test your pH. There is a wealth of information online about getting the body alkaline. We try to eat something raw at every meal along with a large green salad to keep our pH balanced and avoid acidity (which is where disease thrives). - Lana (Health Care Professional)

5. We have been ordering from you for awhile and love your oils. Our son has Russell Silver Syndrome, so getting him to eat has been a challenge. He has also been diagnosed with periodic fevers. He was having fevers of 106-107. We ordered Absolve and have found that when he starts complaining of leg pain or his head hurting, we can apply Absolve (diluted in a roll-on applicator) on his back and neck, and within a short time, this will take the pain away and will help keep him from spiking a fever. In the event that he does spike a fever, we have seen his fever go from 106 to 99 within a matter of minutes after rolling Absolve on him. - Heather

6. My doctor recommended Absolve for my Lyme symptoms. Initially I took 2-3 diluted drops in a capsule orally morning and evening, and as symptoms improved, I took this once daily and alternated applying the blend to the bottoms of my feet. It's fantastic. BTW, my doctor tested your oils and recommended them to me over my YL oils. - Irene

Safety
Cinnamon Bark Orally: Not for children orally six years old or under, and use with caution and in greater dilution for children older than six. Do not use orally in cases of hemophilia or severe kidney or liver disease. Oral use cautions: diabetes medication, anticoagulant medication, major surgery, peptic ulcer, hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

Cinnamon Bark Topically: Cinnamon Bark has a high risk for skin irritation and sensitization. To avoid skin irritation/sensitization risk, Tisserand/Young suggest that the maximum dermal use level is 0.07%. This would be about a 1mL Absolve to 29mLs carrier.

Oregano Oral Caution: Diabetic medication, anticoagulant medication, major surgery, peptic ulcer, hemophilia and other bleeding disorders (Tisserand/Young, page 376).
Oregano Oral Lethal Dose for a Child: 21mls (Buckle)

Oregano Dermal Caution: Oregano can cause irritation of skin and mucus membranes if not appropriately diluted. According to Tisserand/Young, maximum dermal use level is 1.1% (Tisserand page 376).

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Cinnamon Bark is contraindicated for pregnancy and breastfeeding because when it was fed to pregnant mice for two weeks it significantly reduced the number of nuclei and altered the distribution of embryos according to nucleus number (Tisserand/Young, page 249).
Drug interaction: May inhibit blood clotting. Tisserand/Young does not feel that Oregano is suitable to use by any route during pregnancy and breastfeeding (p. 376).

"When Origanum vulgare oil was fed to pregnant mice for two weeks at 1,000ppm (equivalent to 150mg/kg) [about 5 drops], there was a related increase in the rate of embryonic cell death." Tisserand/Young page 376. The concern is that Oregano demonstrates embryotoxicity, and a complete absence of risk to the nursing infant is impossible to demonstrate conclusively. Keep in mind that the dose is a critical component of this toxicity, and adverse effects will only occur when the dose exceeds a certain threshold, but determining that threshold is not simple, as extrapolating from studies in pregnant animals is problematic. Specifically in regard to Oregano, 150mg (about 5 drops) Oregano was fed to female mice for 2 weeks prior to mating. Oregano significantly increased the rate of embryonic cell death. "The negative effects seen in this study may be due to the high doses used, but we do not know what a safe dose might be . . . we have therefore contraindicated Oregano [for use during pregnancy and lactation]." Essential Oil Safety by Tisserand/Young, pages 153-155.

Oregano is not on the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) avoid or use with caution list during pregnancy or nursing list.

From Essential Oil Safety by Tisserand/Young:
"Cinnamon oil (type not known) caused poisoning after the ingestion of approximately 60mL by a 7-year-old boy who drank the oil when dared to by a friend. Symptoms included a burning sensation in the mouth, chest and stomach, dizziness, double vision and nausea. There was also vomiting and later collapse. The doctors involved considered that had vomiting not occurred the dose could have been fatal, but there were no serious consequences."

Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Flushing with water will only send the essential oil back to the eye's membranes. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil." We’ve not known this to cause permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your health care provider.
