Timer for Diffuser

This Lamp and Appliance Timer is programmable in 15 minute increments over a 24 hour period and includes a 2-way switch (timer/on).

By programming the diffuser to run in intervals (i.e. 15 min. out of every hour) you not only receive a greater therapeutic benefit from the oils, but you save a lot of wasted oil and thereby a lot of money!

There is a switch on the side that turns the timer function off but allows the power to still connect to the diffuser. If you “switch” it to the 'on' position, the timer functions on and off based on your settings. Depending on the position of the switch on the side, your timer is either continualy on or is in timer mode.

As an example, you can set the timer to run the diffuser starting at 9PM, to cycle on and off through the night at intervals (in 15 minute increments) and to shut off at 8AM for the day. It will then come back on at 9PM unless you turn the switch on the timer to the off position.

For standard U.S. power supply only (110-Volt, 60 Hertz, 1,875W, 125VAC). For other areas with different power supplies, you will need a power converter.

To Prevent Serious Injury When Using Timer
1. Indoor use only. Keep dry. Do not touch while wet.
2. 1,875 watts maximum; do not exceed.
3. Keep away from children.
4. Only plug into 125 VAC outlet.
5. People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.

Instructions by Chicago Electric (with minor revisions for use with a diffuser)
1. Setting the present time: Rotate the dial so that the present time is lined up with the arrow. Note: Dial is set up for 24 hour day (AM hours are 1-12. PM hours are 13-24). Example: 2PM = 14 on the dial.
2. Setting the ON/OFF function: Note the black time indicators behind the dial. Each time indicator represents 15 minutes. When setting the ON/OFF function, you have to push the appropriate time indicators down, away from the dial. Example: Setting the diffuser to turn on at 8PM and run continuously and turn off at 6AM, all time indicators between 20 (8PM) and 6 (6AM) must be pushed down, away from the dial.  To have the diffuser cycle on and off during this time, then only push down every other one in that time frame. When setting the time indicators, be careful not to turn the dial away form the present time.
3. Note the RED ON/OFF switch on the side of the timer: The ON/OFF schedule set up will remain in place each day unless it is changed. The Timer has two electrical receptacles. A maximum of two appliances can be controlled at one time, on the same schedule. Do not connect more cords (multiple appliances to a single plug) to the timer.
4. Plug the one or two appliances into the timer. Set the ON/OFF switch to ON. Plug the Timer into an 125 VAC electrical outlet and the timer set up is complete.

To determine if the timer will work with a diffuser other than the ones we sell:
1. Plug in the diffuser and turn it on.
2. Unplug the diffuser while it is running.
 3. Plug it back in. If the diffuser does not continue running, then the timer will not work, as the diffuser is designed to need to be turned back on once it's been shut off.
