Ron Guba on Essential Oils and Skin Cancer by Robert Tisserand
"Ron believes that 'For solar keratoses, or basal and squamous cell carcinomas in early stages, a number of essential oils would be worthy to trial.' Our Sun-Kissed salve is Guba's suggested trial formula.

Application Suggestions
Topical: Apply on area of concern or as desired. Essential oil dilution is about 33%. The salve is a "trial" formula offered by Ron Guba. "This ointment should be applied to affected areas, two to three times per day. Resolution of lesions can take up to six weeks of daily application. If there is no improvement, discontinue use and seek medical advice."
For daily use, Robert Tisserand suggests a 5% formulation, which could be created using the Sun-Kissed essential oil blend.

1. In Robert Tisserand's article, Ron Guba "talks about his use of essential oils to treat very small, early-stage skin cancers or pre-cancerous lesions. These were not cancers that required urgent medical intervention. Ron believes that 'For solar keratoses, or basal and squamous cell carcinomas in early stages, a number of essential oils would be worthy to trial.' This ointment should be applied to affected areas, two to three times per day. Resolution of lesions can take up to six weeks of daily application. If there is no improvement, discontinue use and seek medical advice." 2. Dr. Raphael d'Angelo suggested a strong dilution of Frankincense cartertii, and I found this to work very well for removing actinic keratosis lesions. - Mary

3. Sun-Kissed is amazing. I have multiple 'solar keratoses' spots on my face, and within a week of using Sun-Kissed 4-5 times daily, they have all practically disappeared. To top off it's efficacy, it smells wonderful! - Cheryl

4. I'm impressed with the Sun-Kissed salve. I have been trying to deal with a few spots on my nose for years, and within a week of using Sun-Kissed 3x daily, they are gone! I love the aroma and plan to keep using it because it is obviously very supportive to healthy skin! - Linda

5. I want to thank you for the Sun-Kissed salve. I have been using it at least twice a day, every day since I received it. I love the smell and silkiness of the salve. I will continue to use it and I am anxious to see the results when I return to the dermatologist on in 2 weeks. I had a spot on my nose that was burned off and having a hard time healing. I started applying the Sun-Kissed salve and within a couple of days there was great improvement and now is completely healed. I also have a spot on my back that was biopsied and determined to be basal cell carcinoma and I am also applying the salve to the area before I return for surgical removal in 2 weeks. (I'm praying it will be dramatically improved.) I will update you on the results. - Tina
UPDATE: When I returned to have the surgery my dermatologist said that she was very impressed how much the spots had faded and healed from the previous biopsy and burning areas. She had been very concerned about the healing process after the surgery because of my immunosuppression due to my health issues, but after seeing how well they were doing and that they had actually healed and faded, she was no longer concerned. The surgery went very well. Hooray! The Sun-Kissed Salve sample worked for me and I am continuing to use it faithfully. Thank you for your prayers, kindness, wisdom and knowledge. The Lord has blessed you and you have in turn blessed my life. Blessings to you and your family, and may you continue in your healing work of the Lord. - Tina

6. For weeks and maybe even months, I had a sore on my nose which eventually opened up and became an ulcer that had no sign of healing even though I tried many different combinations of essential oils, manuka honey and so on. The open, wet sore would even bleed some nights when I was sleeping. Since it was on my nose which had been burned a number of times by the sun, I started to worry that this was skin cancer. I have no way of knowing if it was, but I ordered the Hopewell Sun-Kissed Salve and in less than three weeks of applying it about three times a day, it had completely closed. I plan to keep putting it on for a few more weeks to make sure it doesn’t open up again. I thank the Lord for these oils and their wonderful results! - Diana

7. I HEO's Sun-Kissed Salve on sun-damaged red spots on my face. My spots got more red and more sensitive as blood flow increased in the area, and then they got lighter with less of dead cell build up. I never had pus or wetness, but I have heard that that might happen with other remedies. - Cheryl

8. My elderly, home-bound mother had a bad cancer spot on her nose. When she used the Sun Kissed salve, it would initially get a bit irritated, then it improved. Then she'd forget to use it and it and we'd lose ground. Consistency is definitely important! After she was bedridden, we applied it regularly, and it improved very quickly! - Carolyn
Safety
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil.” We are not aware of a case where essential oil in the eyes caused permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your health care provider.
