Citrus Oils and Breast Health by Robert Tisserand

Doing regular self-exams of the breast tissue, including under the arm area, will help you notice anything unusual. Breast tenderness in general is typically associated with the menstrual cycle. Check with your local health care provider if you notice a lump that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue or under the arm area that is firm/hard and isn’t painful.  Lumps that are tender to touch are more likely to be lymph related. In some cases, breast cancer can be painful, so if anything feels unusual, it is best to consult your health care provider. See more detailed information: American Cancer Society

Testimonies
1. I have struggled with congested lymph nodules mostly in my armpits. They come, they go, they move around, but they rarely disappeared. I purchased HEO’s Healthy Woman a few months ago and have been extremely pleased with it. For starters, the aroma alone is worth the purchase. I find it calming and uplifting. I diluted it into a spray bottle for daily application (20 drops in a 1oz bottle with Jojoba oil.) I have been using it instead of deodorant now for 2 months, and the congested lymph issues have totally disappeared. They initially disappeared the first week I used it, and I stopped using it consistently, then they returned. Once I used it morning and evening, they have disappeared and not returned. Thank you and many blessings on HEO and the crew for providing such wonderful oils and information to help us stay healthy! - Lee

2. Healthy Woman blend has become one of my favorite daily-use oils. I struggle with congested lymph nodules in my armpits when I get stressed. Since I've been applying Healthy Woman daily (as my deodorant), my stuggle with this has ceased. It has a clean, pleasant aroma, stimulates my immune system, improves lymph circulation and feels very balancing to me. This is one that I will not be without! Thank you again and again for great products! - Casey

3. I am so impressed with this blend! My friend suggested I try Healthy Woman for congested lymph nodes under my arms in the breast tissue. I made a 1oz spray with 2mL Healthy Woman with 28mLs of fractionated Coconut oil as a carrier, and I sprayed it directly on myself under my arms and down the side area. I rubbed it into my skin, and my lymph nodes “instantly” released the toxins and the pain/discomfort disappeared. I had such good, instant results trying this that I also applied it down the sides of my neck under my ears, and once again it had the same effect! No pain in my neck from congested lymph nodes! I will continue to use this wonderful, uplifting blend morning and evening! - Jenell

4. I've had swelling for many months in my glands at the nape of my neck. I recently started using Healthy Woman essential oil (with Pomegranate as my carrier oil a 6.5%) twice a day, and the swelling when down within 2 days! When my nurse checked it, she confirmed this. I am also applying it to the glands in other areas around my neck, on my abdomen, under my arms and on my face. I believe that this blend is improving my circulation, and I feel great. The aroma is excellent! I am greatly enjoying it and will continue! - JB

5. I have a lump in my breast (cancer), and I can tell a real difference when I use/don't use the Healthy Woman blend. It definitely eases discomfort/pain. I use it morning and evening and during the day as needed. I also use it as my deodorant. - J

6. I use Healthy Woman (diluted at 6.5% in Grapeseed oil) as a deodorant. Some days I use it instead of lotion. I love the aroma! When I use regular deodorants, my glands swell and pockets of puss form just under the surface of the skin. Yesterday I put my Healthy Woman blend to the test as I worked out in my barn in the heat of the day. I was hot and sweaty, but I still smelled great!  - EN

7. For over 30 years, I had large fibrocystic breast lumps that were very painful. At some point in my journey to find help, I realized that I shouldn't be using deodorants with aluminum. When I heard about some research regarding Frankincense and tumors, I was hopeful and gave it a try. I mixed about 40 drops of Frankincense with 4 oz. pure apricot oil and applied this mixture under my arms as often as I could. Every night before going to bed I applied 5 drops each of Frankincense and Lavender to both breasts. Less than a month later, all my fibroid lumps and the pain and tenderness associated with them were completely gone and they have not returned! - Anne
[We included this testimony due to Anne's use of Frankincense, which is a component of the Healthy Woman blend.]

8. I want to let you know that Healthy Woman has been a tremendous blessing; a true game changer. Here is the story: I had been using the maximum dosage of estradiol as well as a topical OTC for my vaginal tissues that were so dry they bled. [Fran is 74 years old.] My acupuncture doctor gave me the Yin Valley Formula of herbs. Within a few days, the dryness had improved to the point that I was able to stop the estradiol completely. However, I realized that I was becoming more and more irritable and angry, like the “old days” of PMS. I reduced the herbs and started to spray Healthy Woman on my neck and lower abdomen at night. That transformed my emotional balance the very next day. I have been able to reduce the topical OTC and hope to be able to eliminate the the Chinese herbs eventually because they are so expensive. Sanity is such a sweet thing. Just ask my husband. - Fran

9. I have cystic breast and have been using diluted Healthy Women 2-3x’s a day in hopes that it’ll help. The aroma alone is lovely and healing for my heart and mind.  : ) - Charlotte
UPDATE: I told you I had been applying it regularly throughout the day, and you know what? I had no breast tenderness prior to, nor during my cycle. Praise the Lord!  Hugs don’t hurt!

10. My last Thermogram showed that the hotspots that previously showed up in my breast are totally gone!!
The protocol my naturopathic practitioner worked up for me proved helpful:
- Sleep with all electronics 5-ft from sleeping space
- Start the day with protein within an hour of waking up
- Drink half your body weight in ounces of filtered water daily
- Use nontoxic cleaners and I switched to beeswax candles too
- No gluten, minimal dairy (I tried to do mostly raw and paleo)
- Personalized Homeopathic remedies geared towards a sensitive person
- Olive Leaf extract, K-force (combination of K and D), Vitamin E, power mushrooms
- My practitioner had me use a formula he calls Breast oil. It has Frankincense and Lavender EO diluted with St. John's Wort oil. I applied/massaged in 3 sprays every night on each breast for 5 minutes. [Hopewell's Healthy Woman blend has both Frankincense and Lavender.]
- Yoga or Bowflex exercise every other day
- Oil pulling
- Plague Defense Tooth Suds from Hopewell
- I also switched from using the Thai crystal to a more natural deodorant with no aluminum or parabens, as we just couldn't get a straight answer as to whether the salt crystal has aluminum in it, and I'm not going to trust it unless I can get a straight answer.
- I made a daily smoothie with Organifi Green Powder and organic frozen fruits and greens
- Lots of prayer and life coach support
I did my best but wasn't always perfect, and my Thermogram is clean as a whistle lol! It brought me back to basics again and I needed that. Think I lost about ten pounds, which is never bad. I'm just excited! Also, the oil pulling and Plague Defense Tooth Suds improved the health of my teeth and gums very much. - Laurel

Safety
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil.” We are not aware of a case where essential oil in the eyes caused permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your health care provider.
