AVOID the EYES: I understand that the essential oils sold by Hopewell Essential Oils are not to be used near, on or in the eyes or mucus membranes. Exceptions will be products specifically formulated for and labeled as such.

INTERNAL USE: While the quality of Hopewell Essential oils may be suitable for internal use, we feel that internal use is rarely *needed* and should only be used with respect for how concentrated the oils are. HEO does not advocate internal use of essential oils without appropriate knowledge and understanding of safety concerns. A potential toxicity hazard could occur when untrained people use essential oils orally and ingest too much. Keep in mind that while medical doctors or health care practitioners may prescribe essential oils for internal use, they are trained and experienced in the safe application of essential oils. It is not a matter of using "French aromatherapy" or "British" methods, it's a matter of experience and appropriate application.

QUALITY OF OUR PRODUCTS: We offer therapeutic quality, authentic/genuine essential oils, carrier oils and various other products and raw materials of the highest quality. The aroma and/or appearance of essential/carrier oils and various butters used in salves may vary with each re-order. We cannot guarantee that the product you order today will look and smell exactly like the one you ordered previously or like the one you ordered from another supplier. All "natural" products come from nature, and there is no standardization (although the term "natural" is not currently recognized in the U.S. by any regulatory entity). This variety is what makes essential oils so effective.

Our products are stored in a climate controlled environment 24/7. All our products are fresh, and we replenish our stock with regularity and as needed. Each order is prepared as it comes in.

Essential oils do not go rancid. For a product to go rancid, it must contain fat; essential oils do not contain fats. In some sizes, essential oils, carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed by weight, not by fluid ounces. This means that a bottle of a very light oil may be fuller than a bottle of a heavier, thicker oil. Bottles may not be filled to the top because the bottles may hold more than the stated amount, i.e., an 8 oz. bottle could hold almost 9 oz. of certain liquids. Some customers may be accustomed to using synthetic fragrance oils instead of essential oils. Fragrance oils should always smell the same. When this customer receives an order of pure essential oils, she may be disappointed that the essential oil does not smell the same as the synthetic fragrance oil. Some customers may have been ordering their essential oils from companies that do not specialize in essential oils as we do, and the customer is then disappointed at the subtle nuances of each pure essential oil purchased from us. Essential oils are impacted by what is known as terroir, the resultant oil and its properties will vary from crop to crop, and weather conditions will impact the color and aroma of an essential oil as will the country of origin. Before a customer orders a large quantity of an essential oil, we suggest that a sample be obtained due to our policy of no returns.

ORGANIC TERMS: I understand the use of the term "Wild Crafted" means the harvested plants are growing wild. I understand the use of the term "Unsprayed" means the farm/distiller is not certified organic, and is, to the best of Hopewell Essential Oils' knowledge, growing the plants without the use of chemicals, herbicides and pesticides. I understand that Hopewell Essential Oils is not a Certified Organic company.
