Application Suggestions (See Essential Oil Usage for more information and a Dilution Chart.)
Topical: Dilute with a carrier oilunscented lotion or unscented cream and apply topically behind the ears, over the eyebrow, on the chest, over the thymus (a small organ under the breast bone), at the back of the neck or as desired. Consider using a roll-on applicator for ease of application of prediluted oil.

Since Manger Gift does not have a limiting dilution parameter, we suggest that adults follow the General Guidelines found on the Dilution Chart, which is:
2-3% for daily application
Up to 25% for short-term use

Children: For infants and children, please follow the Dilution Chart on the Babies and Children page.

Inhalation: Diffuse or use a personal Nasal Inhaler

Internal: Manger Gift is suitable for internal use within safe parameters if such use is deemed appropriate. We feel that internal use is rarely *needed* and should only be used with respect for how concentrated the oils are. HEO does not advocate internal use of essential oils without appropriate knowledge and understanding of how to administer, for what purpose, how much, which essential oils, safety concerns and so on. In our experience, essential oils are generally more effective used topically with proper dilution or inhaled. Kurt Schnaubelt, Ph.D. notes that "French aromatherapy literature contains many references to using oils orally." He goes on to note that "generally 1 drop is always enough when ingesting essential oils." A potential toxicity hazard could occur when untrained people use essential oils orally and ingest too much. Keep in mind that while medical doctors or health care practitioners may prescribe essential oils for internal use, they are trained and experienced in the safe application of essential oils. It is not a matter of using "French" or "British" methods, it's a matter of experience and appropriate application.

We believe that essential oils are provided by the Lord to support our health and well-being.
The Lord is our wisdom, protector and healer.
(Genesis 1:29-30, Ezekiel 47:12)
1. For the first time in years I can sleep for 7 hours straight without even moving (or waking to to use the bathroom!), but the best part is that I don't dream, and thus I wake much more rested—thank you! My daughter won't go to bed without it. She has been suffering with headaches for years, but since she started college they have become unbearable. Manger Gift does not take them away, but does allow her to sleep. - C. I.

2. I use Manger Gift on my wrists and back of knees, and I feel calm and peaceful no matter what stress I'm dealing with. - C.W

3. I applied Manger Gift on the bottoms of my husband's feet before we went to bed, and I slept better than I have for years. I slept soundly. - Rhonda

4. Everyone in our family has different favorite blends that just smell so good you can't help but be uplifted when you put them on. Manger Gift definitely does that for me! My top three favorites are Manger Gift, Mountain Top, and Magi, with Manger Gift in 1st place! - Katy

5. I love the Manger Gift blend. Not only has it helped my whole family to have a deep, uninterrupted sleep, but it also has helped me with anxiety and feeling stressed. I also have severe allergies and eczema and many oils bother my skin. This is the first oil blend I have used successfully, and it seems to calm my itches and helps my skin to heal. I am using it instead of my prescription lotion (protopic) by adding one drop to my plain hand lotion, and I love it. - Sandy

6. My parents have found Manger's Gift to help them with deep, restful sleep. They diffuse it in the bedroom at night. I find it relaxing as well, though I have yet to find anything that really "knocks me out," so to speak. - Savannah

Safety
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil.” We are not aware of a case where essential oil in the eyes caused permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your health care provider.
