Researchers have also found that people who consume higher levels of magnesium tend to have lower blood sugar levels and insulin levels.

Juicing your vegetables is an excellent option to ensure you are getting enough of them in your diet.

Application Suggestions (See Essential Oil Usage for more information and a Dilution Chart.)
Topical: Dilute with a carrier oilunscented lotion or unscented cream and apply on area of concern or as desired. Consider using a roll-on applicator for ease of application of prediluted oil. Due to the eugenol content of Basil, the maximum topical dilution ratio is 12%.

Children: Due to Peppermint, do not apply on or near the face of infants or young children. Peppermint is best to avoid with children under 3 years of age. Oral use is not recommended for children under 5. Diffuse with care (about 2 drops) around 3 to 6-year-old children and limit topical application to 0.5%. Consider HEO's Breathe Easy Gentle Blend.

Inhalation: Diffuse or use a personal Nasal Inhaler

Internal: Muscle Relax is suitable for internal use within safe parameters if such use is deemed appropriate. We feel that internal use is rarely *needed* and should only be used with respect for how concentrated the oils are. HEO does not advocate the internal use of essential oils without appropriate knowledge and understanding of how to administer them, for what purpose, how much, which essential oils, safety concerns and so on. In our experience, essential oils are generally more effective when used topically with proper dilution or inhaled. Kurt Schnaubelt, Ph.D., notes, “French aromatherapy literature contains many references to using oils orally." He goes on to note that "generally 1 drop is always enough when ingesting essential oils." A potential toxicity hazard could occur when untrained people use essential oils orally and ingest too much. Keep in mind that while medical doctors or health care practitioners may prescribe essential oils for internal use, they are trained and experienced in the safe application of essential oils. It is not a matter of using "French" or "British" methods, it's a matter of experience and appropriate application.

1. When I fell and hurt my back, the muscle spasms were terrible. Muscle Relax had a great effect on the spasms. By calming down the spasms, I could get rest and let my body heal. At age 93, a lot of my friends didn't think I'd ever walk again, but I'm doing just fine now. J.B.

2. This blend has helped my restless legs - I no longer have the problem!

3. My friend gave me some of her Muscle Relax blend for my aching back. I loved it and want to order some of my own. I love that you homeschool and that you have a home-based business. - J.K.

4. Yesterday, I received my order. Last night, I used the Muscle Relax blend before going to bed. I am thankful to report that, for the first time in I do not even remember how long, I was not awakened all through the night by horrific pain! I pray that in His Mercy, the Lord will continue to bless HIS OILS (as my dear friend Linda Sherman calls them), to my healing. May He Be Praised! - A.D.

5. I am a massage therapist and use Muscle Relax for TMJ on my clients with good results. I apply neat (undiluted) and massage the muscles around the jawline, cheeks, cheekbones, temples and neck if that’s tight. The first few times, I was surprised to see how the muscles released their mean grip in so little time.

6. PainX and Muscle Relax helped me with my TMJ pain. Eventually, I found a dentist who fitted me with a splint to wear at night. He told me I needed to learn to rest the tip of my tongue on the roof of my mouth. He told me to concentrate on not letting my teeth touch (bottom to top) unless chewing food. I really feel that I’m healed, and this is after being told by dentists and oral surgeons that there was no real hope and that I’d live with pain for the rest of my life. The PainX is especially good - it helps with the pain, but it seems like it helped my body mend. I might not have needed the splint, but I am glad I invested in it because it helps me keep my jaw in the correct position while I sleep.

7. I have cervical dystonia, and Muscle Relax plus heat wrap is divine! - Marya

8. My mother has experienced nightly muscle cramps in her legs and feet for about 50 years. She has tried various remedies, vitamin supplements and medications. While she was visiting our family, she ran out of her supplements and was very concerned about what that night would bring in the way of leg cramps. I gave her my bottle of Muscle Relax, and she rubbed the oil blend on her legs before going to bed. She was happy to report only a slight foot cramp when she awoke at 6:00 AM the next morning. No cramps throughout the night! Following the same bedtime routine the next night, she had no cramps at all! - Renee

9. For three years I have been having leg muscle cramping at night. I started taking magnesium and put a bar of soap under the sheet. That has helped for three years. But a few nights ago, I had a cramp that wouldn’t go away. I went into the bathroom and found the Muscle Relax. I applied that on the cramp directly, and within one to two minutes it was totally gone. Once I got back to bed, it felt kind of warm and comfy, and I haven’t had one since. I have put the Muscle Relax by the bed though! - Margaret

10. I have charley horse spasms sometimes at night if I play tennis on a very hot day. The Muscle Relax has been practically instantaneous relief. - Sally

11. My daughter recently got extremely dehydrated and had very little to eat for many days. She began to have cramps in her legs and back which were very painful, most likely due to dehydration and low nutrition. Muscle Relax was the one thing that helped the cramps to go away if she sat perfectly still after she put the oil on. We were so thankful that there was something to help these very painful cramps! - Katy

12. A few months ago, I ordered the Muscle Relax blend to help with Restless Leg Syndrome. Last night I had some difficulty with cramping in my right calf (charley horse). After trying to walk it off, I remembered I had the Muscle Relax oil. I applied it directly to the spot, and I got INSTANT relief. Don't doubt what these essential oils can do for you! - Sheila

13. I tend to have numb hands, and when the Muscle Relax arrived, I asked my husband to put some of it on my back between my shoulders, and my hands lost the numbness. Thank you! - Lorene

14. I had laryngitis (ZERO voice) for 4 months. My vocal cords are finally intact and not inflamed anymore. Everything looks good and should be in proper working order. I am definitely better; I have some voice and see a speech/voice therapist. She says what seems to be the problem is the muscle memory from my brain to the muscles in the throat/neck that are supposed to make the vocal cords work correctly. When she massages my throat area and manipulates the muscles while I am doing my sounds, there is a good, noticeable difference in the sound. She says the muscles are tight. You suggested that I consider trying Muscle Relax, and I used it daily (diluted properly) along my jaw/under my chin/throat areas at night. I had my speech therapy appointment this morning, and she could feel the difference in the muscle tightness. She commented on how relaxed the muscles seemed in such a short time. My voice is auditorily better, no longer raspy/edgy. Thank you very much. God sure uses EO's and Hopewell Oils to bless us. - Anne

15. Muscle Relax has been very helpful for minor aches. I have given it to friends, mixed with fractionated coconut oil as a carrier for restless legs and tense and achy shoulders. They all love it. One friend I gave it to is just now getting over a bad case of the flu, and she used it for backache, which was one symptom of her sickness. She said it eased the ache. Her words were, “It was a lifesaver." It's definitely a good blend to have on hand. - Peggy

16. I want to thank you for the Muscle Relax blend! I get a spasm in my shoulder and upper arm muscle and Muscle Relax is wonderful! Amazing! Thank you, thank you! - Jenifer

17. I make a spray with Muscle Relax and Arnica Infused oil to soothe muscle spasms due to multiple sclerosis. It works very well for me. - Kay
Safety
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Essential oils are both lipophilic and hydrophobic. Lipophilic means they are attracted to fat— like the membranes of your eyes and skin. They are also hydrophobic, meaning they do not like water. Applying a carrier oil will create another fat for the essential oil to be attracted to other than the membranes of the eyes or skin. Tisserand suggests: "With essential oils, fatty oil has been suggested as an appropriate first aid treatment, though the advantage of saline [eyewash] is that the eyes can be continually flushed, and this is less easy with fatty oil.” We are not aware of a case where essential oil in the eyes caused permanent injury or long-term discomfort, but if you feel concerned, please call your healthcare provider.
