"Respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia, are the most common
cause of death in children under the age of five. In a study looking at
children given standard antibiotic therapy, new research published in
BioMed Central's open access journal BMC Medicine shows how zinc
supplements drastically improved children's chances of surviving the
infection. The increase in survival due to zinc (on top of antibiotics)
was even greater for HIV infected children."

While Zinc has been scientifically shown to deactivate the enzyme that a virus cell needs to reproduce, it needs an Ionophores to help it penetrate the cell. Many MDs have prescribed hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and zinc with very good results. Dr. Zelenko tells his patients that Quercetin works like HCQ (it is also an ionophore) and is available over the counter. Dr. Zelenko suggest that people in a high-risk category consider taking the following:
Quercetin 500mg - one daily
Elemental Zinc 25mg - one daily
Vitamin C 1000mg - one daily
D3 is also important to help the immune system response.
Bromelain is a great anti-inflammatory and another supplement I’d consider taking when ill with respiratory issues.
Caution: Studies show that acetaminophen (Tylenol) depletes glutathione, which is very important in helping your body fight illness. Many take Tylenol to reduce a fever. Remember that fever is your friend - the Lord’s provision to fight the illness! Taking Tylenol to reduce it is like shooting your own defense system.
- Acetaminophen decreases intracellular glutathione levels and modulates cytokine production in human alveolar macrophages and type II pneumocytes in vitro: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsinfecdis.0c00288

Inner Thigh/Suppository Application
"Essential oils absorbed into the abdominal veins [eg. as a suppository or applied on inner thighs] bypass the liver. They are fed directly into the heart-lung circulatory system without first being subjected to biotransformation by the liver detoxification enzyme system. Consequently, they reach the lower bronchial capillaries in their original lipophilic and volatile state, still capable of eliminating pathogenic microorganisms and dissolving and expectorating mucus" (From The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils by Kurt Schnaubelt.)

Suppository Use Information
Pneumonia, chronic bronchitis and lung congestion respond very quickly to essential oils when delivered by suppositories. The essential oils bypass the liver and are fed directly into the heart-lung circulatory system. Thus, they reach the lower bronchial capillaries in their original lipophilic and volatile state, still capable of eliminating pathogenic microorganisms and dissolving and expectorating mucus. If helpful, a suppository can be used every 1-2 hours as needed. A quick way to accomplish a suppository is to put 1-3 drops of Lung Support blend, Rosemary ct. verbenone, Myrtle or another mild oil of choice into an empty capsule and fill the rest full with a carrier oil such as Olive or Castor oil. The desired ratio is said to be 10:1 (1 drop essential oil to 10 drops carrier oil). If you do this for someone else, especially a child, try it on yourself first to be sure you have the dilution correct so that it's not uncomfortable. If diluted properly, it should not cause discomfort. For ease of filling a capsule, many prefer to use a pipette. We have glass pipettes and plastic available. Lubricate the capsule liberally and insert. Lie down or recline for about 30 minutes as the essential oils dissolve the capsule and move into the lungs. Always test your application on yourself before you apply to your child. Adjust the dilution if needed.

Testimonies
1. I have a friend who has pleurisy [lung distress]. It causes him a lot of pain and he always ends up having to take medicine to help. Several months ago, I gave him a roll-on applicator with a blend of Hopewell oils to use instead. I simply went to the Hopewell site and typed “pleurisy” in the search bar (top right). Of the oils that the search gave me, I didn’t have Alive or Hyssop, but all the rest went into the bottle. He told me last week that he rubs it on his wrists every day and hasn’t had an issue since he started using it. I have also given his wife several oils to help her through chemo, and she loves them, too. I just love these oils, and I am so grateful for them every day. - Heather

2. Kay wrote: For pleurisy (and other lung issues for that matter)
a) Use an ultrasonic cool mist humidifier with 1% solution peroxide, which is 3 bottles of 3% peroxide (typical of what you can purchase at the store) to 5 bottles of water. I use the ultrasonic humidifier because it cranks out more volume. Sit in front of it and breathe deeply - pathogens in the lungs and sinuses can't live in an oxygen enriched environment. Usually the flu and so on is gone within 24 hours using this method. You can also put it by your bed or the bed of your children at night when flu and cold strikes. Some have also had good results adding a few drops of Lugols iodine solution, which sounds like a good idea to me.
b) Have D3 levels checked. I’d give 5000 iu a day when ill.
c) Magnesium: Magnesium glycinate if constipation is not a problem. If it is, correcting that should be a priority as well - 500 mg magnesium citrate daily with vitamin C (or there is a product called Calm which is magnesium citrate).
d) Consider taking a hefty dose of vitamin C daily - perhaps 5000 mg (to bowel tolerance)
e) Vitamin A - 20,000 iu a day for protecting mucous membranes etc.
f) Vitamin E mixed tocopherols for antioxidant status.

3. Our daughter has Cerebral Palsy, a feeding tube, two VP shunts and pretty severe brain damage from a cyst in her brain. Last week she began to run a 102-103 degree fever. We immediately took her to the emergency room. After blood work, chest X-rays and so on, they told us that they thought she might be starting to develop pneumonia because there was a slight haze on one area of her chest X-ray. They prescribed an antibiotic and gave her a shot as well. She is not able to walk much with out assistance and did not feel well enough to do much physical activity at all. The lack of physical activity is a real problem when it comes to respiratory illnesses in children with physical disabilities and older adults with mobility issues. Movement in a normal, healthy person helps to clear the lungs. I was very concerned because of this and decided to give her the antibiotic instead of trying the oils. After one dose of the antibiotic she had severe diarrhea and broke out in a rash. After calling her doctor and getting no help, I decided to go ahead and try the oils. I rubbed Warrior on her feet, and I also diluted the Warrior in coconut oil and rubbed some on her back and chest. Her nose seemed a little stuffy, so a couple of hours later I rubbed some Respiratory Relief on her feet and chest. Then I rotated Warrior and Respiratory Relief in our diffuser. That night her fever was 100-101. The next day I did the same thing about 3 times. Her fever did not return, her nose was clear and she was back to being herself. The fourth day, I switched the Warrior for Plague Defense and repeated the same routine. She was still doing well, so I stopped all treatment, and she has been fine since. - M. W.

4. My father battled respiratory issues the last few years of his life. My friend suggested that I try Lung Support, and no drug the doctors prescribed ever came close to having such a rapid affect on his breathing as did Lung Support. Once the doctors sent him home to die with pneumonia – they said there was nothing else they could do for him. I brought him home and decided to try the Lung Support in a suppository, and it worked. The doctors were amazed and could not believe that he pulled out of it. — F.C.

5. My 15-year-old son with Down Syndrome has for the past 14 years had to go to the hospital for pneumonia anytime between February and May. Sometimes more than once. This was the first year with NO pneumonia, and so far it has been 15 months with no hospital stays. The only thing different this year has been that we've used Lung Support and Respiratory Relief. We applied it topically to his chest nightly with jojoba oil and diffused it in his room while sleeping. Thank you. - J.H.

6. I discovered that Lung Support helped with my older daughter's coughing. She had a fever since last Wednesday night, and we found out on Friday that she has pneumonia. She's had lots of pain in her chest and is coughing and vomiting. I remembered the sample of Lung Support and thought to give it a shot. It immediately helped her stop coughing. I put it on her chest, back and feet. I was pretty surprised. I tried it twice and it worked, but I ran out of the sample ;-/. I Love learning about these oils. - Sheri O.

7. My 80-year-young father has weakened lungs and is very susceptible to getting colds, which goes straight to his lungs and can easily develop into pneumonia if my mom doesn't get him on antibiotics right away. He had a major pancreatic surgery a few years ago and no longer has a spleen. By the grace of God, he's doing very well, but they say without his spleen, he's much more susceptible to getting colds and flus. I saw that you have some oils for the lungs and pneumonia, so I purchased Respiratory Relief, Lung Support, Plague Defense and Warrior for him 9 months ago. My mom credits these oils for saving my dad. He has had the least amount of lung infections and colds, and even if one came on, it would disappear before getting deep into his lungs like it used too! He uses Lung Support and Respiratory Relief on his chest nightly and Plague Defense and Warrior on bottoms of feet when fighting a cold. It's been so liberating for my dad, who loves to be around his grandchildren, but kept on getting sick in the past and therefore, could not spend as much time with them as he would have liked! Thanks so much!! Lisa R.

8. I just received the Lung Support essential oil today. I ordered it for my grandfather who is suffering from aspiration pneumonia. I've only used it on him for a few hours (since around 2 this afternoon and now it's about 9:20), and I believe that tonight will be one of the first nights he gets some sleep and, therefore, some much needed rest. His time between coughs keeps getting longer and longer. And the coughs are less and less severe. He is breathing deeper. If you knew how severe this pneumonia was a few days ago, you wouldn't believe this is the same man. I am in awe. First of all, I am writing to say thank you. I know it may seem premature, but this is the best he's been in three weeks when he had a severe stroke. I shouldn't be surprised because I know what essential oils can do, but to see them work so instantly is amazing, and I just had to reach out and let you know and thank you. - Windy

9. Wanted to let you know, I got the Lung Support for my almost 81-year-old mom. It sure came fast! She started using it as soon as I gave it to her. I noticed a dramatic improvement in her breathing within a few hours. After a few days she is feeling better and breathing better. I give God the praise! We're awaiting test results to find out if this is pneumonia, COPD, or something more serious. Having mom feeling a bit better while we wait is a blessing. Thank you for the super fast shipping! - Tammy

10. Six years prior to diffusing Lung Support in my bedroom nightly I had a bad case of pneumonia that left my lung capacity so that I felt I could not get a whole breath of air. Not a big deal, but definitely noticeable. An incredible thing happened. After breathing this blend for about six weeks nightly, my lung capacity returned to normal. This is what “sold” me on using essential oils for sickness and disease and I began my quest for more knowledge about the use of oils, both ancient use and modern day usage.  – Linda

11. NSC-100 Beta Glucan pulled me out of a bad case of pneumonia before I learned about using essential oils. It's an amazing product. I took 2 capsules 4x the first couple of days and had a phenominal turn around.

12. My mother researched NSC-100 Beta Glucan and purchased a bottle for me when I had pneumonia. I'd recently had a baby and was hardly able to nurse adequately. NSC is safe for lactating mothers, so I was able to take 2 capsules, 4 times the first day and made a huge leap in improvement by the next day. I took 8 capsules the next day as well, and felt so much better that I had dinner at the table with the family. I started backing off the number I took daily and continued to improve as long as I didn't overdo it, which was challenging since I'd been in bed so long and felt so much better! - Linda
